The Woman with the Horn is clearly
a figure in illustration of a myth already
known. It is addressed to the mind in the
waking state (jagarita-sthana) as common
to all men (vaisvanara), its function being
to bring society into accord with the
rhythm of Nature by means of the mythic

tains the separate forms of moon and
